Christy Ramos

Meet Christy Ramos
and her brothers, Alan Oltz,
Kevin Sampson, Ricky
Sinclair and
David Wilson.
Our first introduction to Christy was on Sunday, May 6th, 1984.
Christy and Robbie Arnold have celebrated their birthdays together (they
were both born on July 30th) for 20 years! Her activities are
many and varied, generally shared with her brothers… number one on their
favorite thing to do list is spending time with family, Pat & Margot,
frequently and always on Holidays.
Christy has become a
“PRO” making badges under the direction of Ms. Laura Webber, often spending
her evening creating a variety of craft objects for community events.

Weekdays Christy attends U.C.P.
Center Workshop, serves as a “PEOPLE FIRST” Board Member, and is a member of
the Cross Disability Transportation Committee, attending their monthly STS
meetings. She is an active member of the “KENDALL STARS” Bowling League,
participates in Special Olympics and includes, as very special, her UM Best
Buddy relationship. In addition to swimming every day and cooking her
kitchen favorites, Christy’s love of sports, especially FOOTBALL is shared
with her brothers! High on the list of things to do is traveling with her
brothers and most importantly to be a part of her Church Family at Wayside.
Rarely in these twenty years have she and her brothers missed a Sunday,
faithfully attending Bible Study and Worship Service. We are so blessed to
have Christy and brothers here at Wayside! |

Luisa Castell
Born: August 23rd, 1970. She graduated from “Robert Morgan
Educational Center” with a Childcare Certificate (qualified to work as a
teacher’s aide) Luisa Castell and her family are originally from
Cuba. Her parents, brother and grandparents left Cuba in 1962. Luisa’s mom had
serious health problems, and in spite of the risks involved, she wanted a
daughter and Luisa was born. Tragically, Luisa’s mom died shortly after her
birth. So Luisa was raised by her beloved grandmother. Her grandmother had
serious back problems and was often in therapy, and Luisa got involved with the
physical therapy too. When her grandmother died in 1999, this was the most
traumatic event in Luisa’s life. However, God was and is there, and His plans
for Luisa involved placing her in a supported living program and giving her many
spiritual gifts including the gift of encouragement. Currently, her
co-coordinator is Gloria Diaz and her supported living coach is Mary Ann
Collier. Luisa now lives with Rande Schultz and Edith Flynn in a very nice
apartment. And the Lord always works through Luisa to encourage and lift up her
roommates, her friends, her Sunday School teacher and everyone else she comes
into contact with. Luisa is always ready to help in anyway that she can, she is
consistent in example setting, and she is not afraid to try to learn new things
to reach higher and nobler goals!!!
